Rev. Cosby is Senior Pastor and Founder of In The Spirit Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), Tulsa, Oklahoma and has served as a hospice chaplain for a number of years in the metropolitan area. She currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors, Centers for Counseling and Education, One Church One Child of Oklahoma and Tulsa Interfaith Alliance. Additionally, she has held board positions with Associated Centers for Therapy, The Mayor’s Commission on the Status of Women, Tulsa County Community Corrections and Tulsa Women's Foundation.
She holds a degree in liberal arts and received a Masters of Divinity from Phillips Theological Seminary. Her course of study includes Liberation Theology and diversity issues. Her ordaination through Azusa Fellowship International, which was affirmed by the Christian Church in Oklahoma, April 2009.
Rev. Cosby has received several citations, including from the City of Tulsa, Mayor’s Office; Oklahoma State Senate and Oklahoma House of Representatives for her long history of work in gang prevention and efforts to reduce juvenile violence. Most recently, 100 Black Men Organization honored her for over 30 years of community service and her commitment in ministry to incarcerated individuals. Her ministry not only held life changing worship services at the various correctional facilities, but conducted relationship, domestic violence and HIV/AIDs education as part of the systems prison reentry programming.
